Coming on the heals of it’s announcement to axe 90 positions at it’s fiberglass manufacturing facility in Shelby, NC.; PPG Industries now has announced that 110 positions will be cut at it’s facility in Lexington, MA.
Citing “unfavorable conditions in the global economy,” the company has decided to downsize the facility which currently employs 420 people. The company announced Friday that they would shut down part of the operations at the Lexington, MA plant and that the shut down would result in the 110 layoffs.
PPG is a global suplier of paints, chemicals, coatings, optical products, specialty materials, glass, and fiberglass.
